Description
A tag identifies an XML or
SGML markup construct. The utility of this element is
almost wholly constrained to books about markup.
Processing expectations
Formatted inline.
A tag generates all the necessary punctuation
before and after the construct it identifies. For example, it
generates both the leading ampersand and the trailing semicolon when
the class is
genentity.

Identifies the nature of the tag content
Enumerated values: “attribute” An attribute

“emptytag” An empty element tag
“endtag” An end tag
“genentity” A general entity
“localname” The local name part of a qualified name
