meta — A generic metadata element.

Description

The meta element can be used to add arbitrary metadata to the info section of an element. DocBook makes no assertions about the semantics of these elements.

If the meta tag does not have a content attribute, then the content of the element is taken to be the metadata value.

Processing expectations

Suppressed. The meta information may be used in presentation, but it is not generally formatted directly.
